Road Trip '09

I did video at Camp Inlow last week. I had a good time. I think I even enjoyed it more than last year. Clint is the guy doing the interviews. He helped make the videos interesting.

This video is Brittany's favorite.

To see the rest go here.

Solo is the star

Don't let him fool you, he wasn't so happy when I watched him while Brittany helped with the wedding! (Hence my photo with him)

Lots of driving!

We went to Colorado for dad's 50th birthday this weekend. It was fun. The driving wasn't even that bad except for the drive from Kansas City to Hannibal.
The drive home on Sunday was the longest time Brittany and I have been on the road. Solomon did pretty well. He slept quite a bit and only got really fussy a couple times.
We're going up to Minnesota next weekend. It should be a breeze compared to the drive to Florissant!
Here are a few pictures from Saturday. Dad's Royals shirt was from us.

Summer begins!

I can't believe its already June! Solomon will be 2 months old soon! After the summer flies by he'll be 4 months! Maybe I'm not so anxious for him to be old enough to play catch...

Here are a few pictures from the past few days.

go Royals! (i have no idea how they're doing, but i'm guessing it's nothing to get excited about)

Sleepin' on the boppie. This thing used to dwarf him!

He loves his great-grama!

The Payoff

I've told several people now that it feels like having a kid is starting to have some good returns. It makes my day when I get a smile from him before I leave for work!. He's actually started smiling sooner than I figured. Hopefully he won't be long for doing stuff like laughing, cooing, and playing Frisbee!

Tired

Does he look tired? He should at 3:30 in the morning, but nope.
He slept most of the day today though!

From the not-in-jail Dan

After a bit of a delay due to devious relatives, I've found time to post again.

Soli's been doing better and better over all, he has a few moments and nights that are kind of trying, but he is getting more and more interactive. He almost smiled last night when I was acting like an idiot trying to get him to. For the most part, we can get him to quit crying pretty quick, getting him to go to sleep that is another story...

So basically, I think we'll go ahead and keep him.

When mom and dad came to visit. I tried to pick the best picture of dad.

Passed out.

He sit up on his own! (until he falls over)

My little Beatboxer...

The two sure-fire cry stoppers for Soli are swinging and bouncing. This is how I can keep him from crying while teaching him a new skill! He's joining in already!

The latest

I had a great time with Basil's camera. I took over 500 pictures in a week.

We had our photo-shoot last Wednesday and we made the birth announcement on Friday. The announcements are pretty neat. The list of recipients is about 50 people long so if we know you at all, you'll probably get one!

Here's a few 10 megapixel snaps from last week:

Friends of Soli

Here's a slideshow of all the people who were lucky enough to get to hold Solomon so far. He really loves all his new friends!

Picture day coming soon!

Solo's over 5 days old now! He is doing very well. Brittany says he doesn't do terrible at night, but I wouldn't know; I'm asleep. He's taken to nursing well, he's pretty content most of the time, he likes car rides, and he's still cute as a button!
For example, this was taken just a few hours ago:

Basil lent me his new camera for the week, so we're gonna do "professional" photos soon. I'll be sure to get them posted as soon as they're "processed."

As you can see, I'm already on the road to great photographic success...

Solomon's World Premier!

Praise the Lord for a great delivery and a beautiful baby boy!

Solomon Jennings Ware was born on April 9, 2009 at 11:29am. He weighs 6lb 14oz and is 19 inches long.

Brittany did an amazing job delivering. Soli is healthy and developing very well. We are truly blessed to have him!

Still Waitin'

Eight days after due date and we're still waiting for Soli to come hence. If only Brittany would have let me name him Lazarus... (COME FORTH!)

We've been trying everything we can think of to help him along; Eating spicy food, Italian food, greasy food, walking, running...

He won't be able to wait past the 9th, so hopefully he'll decide to come before then!

Charles Spurgeon on Sin

Sin, a little thing? It girded your Redeemer's head with thorns--and pierced His heart! It made Him suffer anguish, bitterness, and woe! Could you weigh the least sin in the scales of eternity--you would fly from it as from a serpent, and abhor the least appearance of evil. Look upon all sin as that which crucified your Savior--and you will see it to be "exceeding sinful."

Its Gone (with lots of my money)!

I finally got rid of the Subaru today. It took almost a month for the guy on ebay to pick it up, which was like a final kick in the rear because I had to stare at it that much longer. I'd like to say the whole situation taught me a lesson, but this isn't the first time I've made a dumb financial decision... but hopefully I'll be a little less impulsive next time.

I did get a laugh from the situation today... The ebay guy had a shipping company pick up the car today. I thought it was odd that someone would spend enough to have a car worth as little as the Subaru shipped over 1,500 miles, but hey, not my money. I do think that the Subaru felt kind of insignificant on a trailer with a Rolls Royce (see picture below).
